Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is a second layer of security that reduces the risk of unwanted access to your account. It requires a two-step identification process every time you login to your account.
You must set up your MFA in order to access your account.
Once MFA is configured, you will use your email address and password to log into your portal and then verify your identity by either entering a temporary code from your preferred Authenticator app which you install on your mobile device or SMS on your registered device.
Available MFA methods:
- Authenticator App on a mobile phone or tablet - the code displays in the app
- SMS - the code is sent to your mobile phone via text message
How to set up MFA to access your portal:
- Once you have activated your account using the invitation email from your financial professional, Navigate to the portal and log in using your email address and password.
- You will now be asked to set up Multi-Factor Authentication. You can pick either Authenticator App or SMS
Setting up MFA using an Authenticator App:
- Click 'Google authenticator or similar' to select this option.

Download any authenticator app, though we recommend installing the Google Authenticator app. This can be found within the Apple App Store & Google Play store.
The Google Authenticator app generates 2-Step Verification codes on your mobile device. 2-Step Verification provides stronger security for your account by requiring a second verification step when you sign in.

Open your preferred authenticator app on your mobile device and scan the QR Code on screen. If you can't scan the QR code, your app will have an option that lets you manually type a code instead. To do this, click Trouble Scanning on the page and enter the code that appears into the app.

Once you've scanned the QR code or manually entered the code, Authenticator app will issue you with a one time code. Enter the code into the ‘one-time code’ field and click ‘Continue’.
- Once you've set up MFA, you can also enable biometrics, such as facial recognition or a fingerprint, as an additional authentication method, depending on your device. If you'd prefer to set it up later, you can select "Remind me later," and the option will appear again in two weeks. If you choose "Not on this device," the option will not be presented again for a year from today.
- If your device supports biometrics, it will be registered with a confirmation message upon success.

You will now be granted access to your portal.
Setting up MFA using SMS:
- Sign in to your client portal account as normal, using your email address and password.
- Click 'SMS' to select this option.

Enter your phone number. You may exclude the leading zero if preferred. The country code will default to Australia. Click 'Continue'.
- Auth0 will send a 6-digit code to your chosen phone number. If you didn't receive the message, click 'Resend' to receive another code.
- Enter the 6-digit code and click Continue.
- Once you've set up MFA, you can also enable biometrics, such as facial recognition or a faceprint, as an additional authentication method (depending on your device).
If you'd prefer to set it up later, select 'Remind me later' and the option will appear again in two weeks. If you choose "Not on this device," the option will not be presented again for the next year.
- If your device supports biometrics, it will be registered with a confirmation message upon success.
